Women's Track & Field Finishes Second at NAIA Outdoor Nationals

MARION, Ind. - The Life University Women's Track and Field team placed second at the 2025 NAIA Outdoor Nationals meet. The Running Eagles took four individual titles, one relay championship and earned nine All-American placements. Briana Campbell was named Most Valuable Performer of the meet and won the Most Outstanding Performer of the meet for her record-breaking time in the 100m hurdles.

Campbell won three individual National Championships on the final day of the meet. Leading off the day, Campbell raced to a 100m hurdles title in record fashion. Breaking her own record, she posted a lightning-fast 13.01 in the event. Just 30 minutes later, Campbell claimed the 100m dash title, posting a 11.38. Finally, just under two hours after her winning her first one, she claimed her third and final title in the 200m dash with a 23.37.

 

In the 400m, Printassia Johnson cruised to a National Championship, running an astounding 52.46. Her time placed her nearly two seconds ahead of the rest of the field.


Dominating the rest of the teams, Najah Gibson, Cameron Kelperis, Emeline Delaville and Johnson posted a combined time of 3:45.29. The National Championship time was over three seconds faster than the next closest team.



Tara Koonce earned the honor of being the program's first All-American on Wednesday afternoon, placing third in the hammer. Despite being seeded ninth, the Washington State native took advantage of familiar weather conditions, tossing a season-best 54.77m. 

In extremely tough conditions, Cameron Kelperis earned an All-American finish in the pole vault. With a best jump of 3.90m, she earned fourth place at the meet.

Emeline Delaville earned a runner-up finish in the 800m, narrowly coming in second place with a time of 2:08.29. Her All-American time was under a second behind first place.

The team of Leyla Richardson, Campbell, Kelperis and Zaria Bonafede placed second in the 4x100m relay with a time of 45.79. The All-American time put them just .53 seconds behind the winners.

Laisha Hernandez placed 16th in the 400m hurdles, running a 1:03.81 in the prelims.

In the women's 4x800m relay, the team of Najah Gibson, Kyja Williams, Dagbjort Magnusdottir and Delaville placed 16th with a time of 9:32.69.

Individually, Gibson placed 18th in the 400m dash, racing a 58.48.
