Vega Ignites Third Set Comeback as Running Eagles Earn Win over BPC

MARIETTA, Ga. — The Life University Women's Volleyball team closed out its weekend homestand with a dominant straight-sets victory over Brewton-Parker, posting a 25–13, 25–20, 25–22 win inside the Upper Gym to push the Running Eagles to 8–3 on the season and 3–0 in conference play.

The Running Eagles set the tone early, striking first on an Esosa Ehigiator kill off a Gabriela Rivera set and quickly built a multi-point lead behind strong serves from Gabriela Rivera and Erica Irby. The Running Eagles then cruised through the opening set to a 25–13 frame win.

Brewton-Parker pushed harder in set two, jumping to an early advantage. The Running Eagles were able to steady the set behind strong sets from Rivera and Fabiana Cruz. Life U turned a one-point game into a momentum swing with a late run, capped by a service ace and a clutch kill, taking the set 25–20 and gaining a 2–0 lead.

The third set featured the tightest frame of the day as Brewton-Parker again opened strong and led midway, forcing a Life U timeout. The Running Eagles responded with a mix of substitutes and rotational changes with Paola Vega sparking the offense with strong serves, a block, and a plethora of dominant kills. In the end, BPC lost on a service error sealing the 25–22 set and match win for the Running Eagles.

– Life U finished with 33 kills and a .270 hitting percentage, while recording 7 aces and 7.0 team blocks.
– Brewton-Parker finished with 28 kills and struggled with a .045 team attack percentage.

STANDOUT PERFORMANCES

Jade Watson paced the offense with 9 efficient kills. 
Reign Jarin anchored the backcourt, finishing with 16 digs 
Gabriela Rivera totaled 16 assists
Fabiana Cruz also chipped in as a steady playmaker with 13 additional assists
