MARIETTA, Ga. — The Life University women's volleyball team delivered a statement win on Saturday afternoon, sweeping RV Mobile 3–0 to remain unbeaten in Southern States Athletic Conference play. The Running Eagles improved to 6–3 overall and 2–0 in league action, while RV Mobile dropped to 8–1 (1–1 SSAC).
The match opened with a tense first set that featured ten ties and five lead changes. After trading points early, the Running Eagles used a 5–0 surge behind the serving of Mia Garcia to grab a 9–5 advantage. Mobile fought back to level the score at 18–18, but Life responded with key kills from Victoria Davenport and Jade Watson, along with a late ace by Gianna DeVarenne, to close out the frame, 25–22.
Set two mirrored the first with long rallies and momentum swings. The Rams briefly pulled ahead 13–11, but Life steadied behind its middle attack as Katrin Hardardottir and Esosa Ehigiator combined for three kills during a 6–2 run. Garcia and Alanis Calderon added timely service pressure, and a block from Ehigiator sealed another 25–22 win to give Life a commanding 2–0 lead.
The third set proved the most dramatic, with 14 ties and six lead changes. Neither side led by more than three points, and Mobile rallied late to earn set point at 24–23. Life dug deep, however, as Davenport and Hardardottir delivered back-to-back kills to regain the edge. A final block by Watson and Ehigiator ended the contest at 26–24, clinching the sweep.
