MARIETTA, Ga. — Life U left everything on the floor Friday afternoon, going toe-to-toe with Loyola before a late run tipped the scales in a hard-fought 59–50 contest in Marietta.
From the opening tip, the Running Eagles made it clear this would not be an easy day for Loyola. Life U matched the visitors' intensity early, trailing by just one after the first quarter and refusing to let the game slip away. The energy carried into the second quarter, where Life U answered every Loyola push and went into the locker room still only down one, 33–32.
The third quarter turned into a grind with both teams trading stops and baskets. Life U continued to apply pressure on both ends, staying within reach as Loyola edged ahead 50–45 heading into the final 10 minutes.
Despite multiple strong looks and relentless effort, shots simply would not fall for Life U down the stretch, allowing Loyola to create separation late. Even so, the Running Eagles never backed down, battling until the final buzzer.
Madison Carey delivered a solid performance, pouring in 12 points and grabbing four rebounds while also being disruptive on the defensive end with two steals. Aniyah Offutt led the Running Eagles in scoring with 13 points of her own and added 3 rebounds.
Life U shot under 40 percent from the floor and knocked down four three-pointers, while their opponents were able to create separation at will.
