MARRIETA, Ga. — The Life University women's basketball team closed out the 2025-26 regular season with a Senior Day victory over the Fillies of ABAC on Saturday afternoon. The Running Eagles put on a dominant performance on both ends of the floor.
It was a hot start for Life U in the Eagles' Nest as the home squad quickly jumped out to a five-point lead. The defense was strong all the way through the quarter, allowing just three baskets from the floor in the entire first period. Emily Perez lead the charge on the offensive end, knocking down a pair of first quarter threes as the Running Eagles carried a 16-6 lead into the second.
Both offenses found their strides in the second as the teams traded buckets early. ABAC slowly built momentum as the Fillies went on a 11-3 run, tying the contest 23-23 with 03:10 left in the half. Life U responded immediately with a run of its own, scoring ten-straight points while on a 13-1 run to retake a commanding 36-24 lead.
Out of the half, the run continued as the Running Eagles quickly moved the lead to 20. Though ABAC did close the gap back down, the Life U offense continued to out pace the Fillies as the home squad took a 54-41 lead into the final frame.
In the fourth, Life U lead by no less than 16 for over seven minutes of the quarter as the Running Eagles closed out the 65-46 win.
