MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - The Life University women's flag football team concluded its season opening road trip with a loss to the #2 Seahawks of Keiser on Saturday morning.
The home standing Seahawks wasted no time, scoring on the opening drive of the game. The 15-play, 66 yard drive, that ended in a successful one-point conversion took nearly half the quarter. Life U responded with a strong drive, marching all the way to the Keiser seven yard line but were unable to turn it into points.
After forcing a Seahawks three-and-out midway through the second quarter, Life U got on the board. Cheyenne Brooks connected with Altierra Gooch on a 14-yard strike, making it 7-6 following an unsuccessful conversion attempted.
The Keiser offense found its footing late in the first half, adding two late TDs and taking a 21-6 lead into the break.
Out of the half, the Seahawks defense slowed the Running Eagles after an 18-play drive that ended in an interception. St. Thomas turned the long defensive stop into points on the other end, moving the score line to 27-6.
Though Brooks found Gooch again in the end zone for a 22-yard strike, a pair of fourth quarter touchdowns from the Seahawks closed the contest at 46-13.
