CLEVELAND, Ga. — The Life University men's volleyball team turned in a composed and efficient road performance Tuesday night, earning a four-set victory over Truett McConnell University (25–23, 25–16, 20–25, 25–18) at the Harris Athletic Complex. The win improved the Running Eagles to 3–2 overall and opened conference play with a 1–0 record.
Life U set the tone early in the opening frame, controlling the pace behind a steady offensive attack and disciplined play at the net. The Running Eagles recorded 18 kills while hitting .389 in the first set, building momentum throughout the frame. Truett McConnell stayed within striking distance, but Life U closed strong to secure the set, 25–23.
The Running Eagles delivered their most decisive stretch in the second set, limiting mistakes and capitalizing on extended runs. Life U committed just two attack errors in the frame and pulled away midway through the set, cruising to a 25–16 win to take a two-sets-to-none advantage.
Truett McConnell responded in the third, using service pressure and longer rallies to shift momentum. Despite 12 kills from the Running Eagles, the Bears controlled the latter stages of the set and claimed a 25–20 decision to extend the match.
Life U answered with a poised performance in the fourth set. The Running Eagles reasserted control with improved defensive coverage and timely stops at the net, gradually widening the margin. Life U remained composed down the stretch, closing out the match with a 25–18 victory to secure the four-set win.
