MARIETTA, Ga. - The Life University women's flag football secured a hard-fought 13–12 victory over #6 Webber International on March 21, fueled by key performances on both sides of the ball. The offense was led by quarterback Cheyenne Brooks, who showcased her versatility by throwing for 223 yards while also adding 17 rushing yards and scoring both of Life's touchdowns on the ground. Her ability to extend plays and finish drives proved to be the difference in a tightly contested game.
On the ground, Dechea Branham complemented Brooks with 21 rushing yards, helping Life establish just enough of a run game to keep Webber off balance. Through the air, Brooks distributed the ball effectively, connecting with multiple receivers. Elora Niederpruem led the receiving corps with 65 yards, while Caitlyn Gibson added 50 yards and Reagan Washington contributed 42 yards, highlighting a balanced and reliable passing attack.
Defensively, Life U made crucial plays at key moments. Oumy Gaye led the team with seven tackles and was a disruptive presence throughout the game. Laila Wade and Kyra Zackery each contributed impact plays, including tackles for loss and interceptions that helped stall Webber drives. The defense also forced multiple turnovers, including two interceptions, which played a major role in maintaining Life's narrow lead.
The decisive moment came in the fourth quarter when Brooks capped off a 61-yard drive with a 3-yard rushing touchdown, giving Life U a 13–6 lead. Although Webber responded with a late touchdown, Life U's defense held firm in the closing moments to preserve the win.
Overall, it was a gritty, team-oriented performance by Life U, with standout contributions from Cheyenne Brooks on offense and a defense that delivered in critical situations to secure the one-point victory.
