SARASOTA, Fla. – The Life University women's lacrosse team put on a defensive showcase against the Banyans of New College of Florida on Saturday afternoon. Allowing just four goals to the home squad, Life U hung double-digits on the other end of the field to take an 11-4 win.

The Banyans jumped out to an early lead in Sarasota, but the momentum was short lived. The Running Eagles countered with three-straight goals, two from Roxie Beasley and the third from Sydney Matesevac, taking a 3-1 lead. New College of Florida attempted to break the momentum with a strike midway through the first, but Beasley answered with a pair to close the period.

Trailing 5-2 entering the second, the Banyans once again opened the period scoring, cutting the lead to two. However, the Running Eagles defense turned it on, holding the home squad scoreless for the next 32 minutes of game action. Meanwhile, on the other side of the field, Tori Wolf and Hannah Leon combined for three goals in the second period. Life U carried an 8-3 lead into the half time break.

In the third, Jazzlynn Hollerbach added the only goals of the period as the lead grew to seven.
