LAKES WALES, Fla. - The Life University women's flag football team fell to the Royals of Warner in the Semifinals of the SUN Conference tournament on Friday afternoon. The Running Eagles defense did its best to keep the team in the contest, allowing the third lowest total points of the season from the Royals offense.

The contest opened in a defensive battle, with both defenses coming up with big stops to start the contest. Both squads forced turnovers on downs as each team went for it on fourth down but were unsuccessful in getting the first down. On the next offensive possession, Warner opened the scoring late in the first quarter on a 40-yard hook-and-ladder play before failing to get the extra point.

The lead doubled to 12 in the second quarter as Warner once again found the end zone. The defense continued to hang on, once again making the stop on the conversion. Trailing 12-0, the Running Eagles offense remained unable to generate points as Elora Niederpruem was once again called upon to punt. In the final seconds of the half, the Life U defense made a huge defensive stand on the goal line to keep the game at 12-0.

Warner continued to hammer away on the Running Eagles in the second half. The Royals added a third touchdown and a pick-six in the third quarter to take a 25-0 lead. Life U opened the fourth quarter with a bit of momentum as Promise Cooper intercepted an errant pass from the Warner quarterback. However, the pick was not converted into points. Warner added two late strikes in the final minutes of the contest as the Running Eagles fell 38-0 to #1 Warner.
