COLUMBIA, Ky. — The No. 11 Life University men's soccer team fell to the #18 Blue Raiders of Lindsey Wilson on the road late Friday night. The Running Eagles had plenty of chances in front of goal, inclduing a late penalty kick opportunity but were unable to pull out the draw on the road.

The Running Eagles fired away on frame early as Alvaro Hidalgo and Enrico Burigotto both forced saves out of the Lindsey Wilson Keeper in the opening six minutes. However, it was the Blue Raiders to strike first, scoring in the 14th minute. Life U continued to have chances in front of net, finally tying the contest in the 43rd minute on the ninth shot of the half. Alejandro Contrera gave his team life, sending the game to the half time break tied 1-1.

Life U dominated the shot category 9-2 at half, constantly testing the Lindsey Wilson keeper.

Out of the break, Life U continued to hammer away, recording six shots in the first 30 minutes of the second. However, the Blue Raiders provided the decisive moment in the 75th minute, taking a 2-1 lead with under 15 minutes left in the contest. The Running Eagles continued to press for the equalizer, with multiple shots and corner kicks but were unable to find the back of the net. In the final moments, Life U was unable to convert a penalty-kick opportunity as the contest closed 2-1 in favor of Lindsey Wilson.

Up next, Life U returns home for the Life U Classic, first taking on ranked Keiser on Friday, September 4.

"Losing like this is always harsh," said Head Coach Alex Pama following the loss. "The boys played a great first half but unfortunately one moment at a corner and one moment of lack of concentration defensively cost us the game. Missing the PK in the last minute summed up our evening in Kentucky. We have a talented squad but have to stick to our game plan more to get the results in these top 20 match ups. Not much time to mourn as we have another tough two match ups coming up."
