MARIETTA, Ga. — The Life University women's volleyball team swept United States Sports University on Saturday morning, marking the second straight 3-0 against the Eagles. The Running Eagles took the sweep with scores of 25-15, 25-5 and 25-9 to move to 9-2 on the season.
The Running Eagles opened the contest on a 4-0 run before putting up a sizable lead early. Life U pushed the lead to 11-5, behind multiple errors from the visitors and an emphatic kill from Jadyn Walters, before the visiting Eagles called a timeout. The break did little to slow down the momentum as the home offense continued to run away with the contest. Holding a near double-digit lead for the remainder of the frame, late kills from Medney Garraux and Taelynn Epple secured the set before Epple ended it on a service ace.
The second set belonged solely to the Running Eagles. Life U opened the frame a 14-0 run that included four service aces from Garraux and two kills from Paola Vega. Firmly in control of the second set, the Running Eagles conceded just five points in the frame while hitting .556 as a team.
Carrying all the momentum into the third set, the Running Eagles squad kept its foot on the gas, running away with the frame. A 12-3 run kicked off the start of the third and final set, once again anchored by a pair of service aces from Vitoria Reis and kills from Garraux and Walters. Epple added the final two kills of the day as Life U clean swept the visitors for the second day in a row, 3-0.
Life U hit an impressive .444 as a time in the contest while adding 12 aces and five blocks. The front line held the visitors to a -.046 hitting percentage while adding 36 digs.

- Kya Colston recorded six kills, hitting .556 while adding two total blocks.
- Vitoria Reis directed the offense with 21 assists and added three service aces and six digs.
The Running Eagles will remain at home, taking on Baptist University of Florida in non-conference action on Tuesday, Sept. 15.
