Kylar Ferguson enters her fourth year at the helm of the Life University women's lacrosse program, leading the team since its inception in 2019. In her three years as head coach, Ferguson holds a 25-15 record, while seeing her players succeed both on the field and in the classroom. Her student-athletes have earned eight* All Mid-South Conference, three NAIA All-American, and four Daktronics Scholar Athlete honors.
The team has seen constant growth under her leadership, possessing a .500 record at 7-7 in year one while receiving votes in the NAIA Coaches Poll and earning three Second Team All-Conference recognitions. The women jumped out to a great start in year two, Ferguson leading the team to a 7-1 record which included an upset over the seventh-ranked team in the nation before the COVID pandemic cut the season short. The early season success saw her team break into the rankings for the first time at ninth, ending the season ranked seventh in the final poll, while four of her student-athletes were recognized as Daktronics Scholar Athletes. Ferguson continued to build on her success in her most recent season, not only earning the team's first bid to the NAIA National Tournament, but making it all the way to the semifinals game to finish the year ranked third. The team found success going 11-7 during the season, despite playing one of the toughest schedules in the entire nation. Her aggressive coaching style saw the team lead the nation in caused turnovers for the second year in a row, as the players were honored with five All-Conference nods (three first team, two second team) and three All-American nods (two first team, one second team).
Outside of her experience at Life, the Georgia native has lived lacrosse the better part of the last decade, holding coaching positions with Marietta Athletic Club Lacrosse, The Walker School from 2013-14, Kell High School from 2014-17, and Hotlanta Club Lacrosse from 2014-18, while also being involved with Midwestern Force Lacrosse Clinics and Showcases, Walton Select, B12 Club Lacrosse, Tier 1 Lacrosse Camp, Nike Lacrosse Camp Director, and being a certified GHSA Official.
Before coaching, Ferguson played NCAA Division I Lacrosse at Kennesaw State University, earning ASUNÂ All-Academic team recognitions in the 2012-13 and 2013-14 season while starting the inaugural program as a defensive midfielder. For KSU's club lacrosse program, she was recognized as an All-SWLL Conference player in 2016, while taking part in back-to-back undefeated seasons. While at KSU, she earned her Bachelors in both Finance and Economics, graduating Summa Cum Laude in both.
