MARIETTA, Ga. – Life University (16-8, 4-4 MSC) fell to No. Lindsey Wilson (21-0, 10-0 MSC) by a decision of 3-0 (14-25, 17-25, 12-25).

The pair of juniors
Liz Mann and Gaby Ferrán paced the squad with seven kills apiece, with Mann adding three digs and Ferrán adding six digs and a block.

The match began close, with both teams trading points back and forth. However, the Blue Raiders began to assert themselves with a 6-0 run to take a 12-8 lead. LWC would finish the frame with a 9-1 run for a 25-14 decision.

The second set began much the same as the first. This time, though, the Running Eagles took its first decent lead of the match at 5-2. Lindsey Wilson chipped away and eventually overpowered Life U taking a 16-10 lead after a 6-0 run. The Running Eagles would attempt to make a comeback but came up short 25-17.

The Blue Raiders rolled in the third set, with a 15-3 run to open the frame. Life U tried to make it interesting and chipped away, pulling within 20-11 at its closest. LWC closed the match on a 5-1 run to take the 25-12 victory.

The Running Eagles are back in action tomorrow, Oct. 14, as they welcome Cumberland.
