GEORGETOWN, Ky. – Life University (4-9, 1-5 MSC) fell 2-1 to Georgetown (8-5-2, 3-2-1 MSC) on Friday.

"The women competed well today," Head Coach
Sam Clark said. "We scored early, which was one of our objectives. We lost our defensive shape and our marking responsibilities for their two goals, but we battled all second half to make a zero-zero second half."

Andrea Garcia scored the lone goal for the Running Eagles. However, Life U was outshot 26-5, with 16 shots on goal compared to just two. Freshman
Pien van Kampen suffered the loss in the goal with two goals allowed and 14 saves.

The Running Eagles got things started right off the bat, with Garcia sinking a shot just 39 seconds into the match to take an early 1-0 lead. Georgetown would score the equalizer at 6' to tie it at 1-1. In the waning minutes, Georgetown took the lead on goal off of a corner kick and a cross at 32'.

In the second half, both teams battled in a defensive back and forth. While both teams were able to get off shots, none found the back of the net. Georgetown came away with a 2-1 victory.

Life U is back in action on Oct. 25 as they close out the regular season hosting Cumberland.
