MARIETTA, Ga. – Life University (17-10, 5-6 MSC) fell 3-1 (17-25, 25-23, 25-15, 25-20) to No. 24 Campbellsville (20-3, 9-2 MSC) on Saturday.

Liz Mann paced the squad with a double-double of 10 kills and 15 digs, as well as three aces and a block. Junior
Chelsea Hill contributed nine kills and seven blocks, in addition to six digs and an ace. Sophomore
Amber Harris logged 28 assists with six digs and a block.

The match began close with both teams trading points early. Campbellsville began to pull away as they went on a 4-1 run to take a 14-11 lead. They would extend their lead to 21-13 and eventually take the set 25-17.

The second set was the closest of the match with both trading points back and forth. The Tigers pushed out to a 16-12, but the Running Eagles answered with a 5-0 run to take the lead 17-16. They would go up 22-19, but CU would tie it at 22 all. Life U closed out the set on a 3-1 run to take the frame 25-23.

Campbellsville took control in the third set and opened on a 10-4 run. They would run the lead out to 19-13, and eventually took the set 25-15.

The fourth set began like the first two, with the teams going back and forth. With a tie at 14-14, the Tiger went on a 6-1 run to take a 20-15 lead. The Running Eagles attempted to mount a comeback, but came up short as Campbellsville took the set and the match with a 25-20 decision.

The Running Eagles are back in action on Oct. 28 as they close the regular season home schedule against Cumberlands.
