PORTSMOUTH, Ohio – Life University (4-6, 1-1 MSC) fell to Shawnee State (8-2-1, 1-1 MSC) 5-0 in the first road test of the Mid-South Conference schedule on Wednesday.

"This was a tough loss," Head Coach
Sam Clark said. "We gave up two goals from fouls, which took the wind out of our sails, pretty early into the second half. The real test will be if we are able to rebound, grow, and move forward into our next match."

The Running Eagles were outshot 30 to 12 on the night, with 13 shots on goal compared to 12. Freshman
Pien van Kampen took the loss in the goal allowing saving eight shots, but allowing five goals.

The first half was a defensive back and forth. However, the Bears got on the board first with a goal at 28'. They held on to this lead taking a 1-0 advantage into the half.

In the second half, SSU turned up the offense scoring four goals. The first game at 69'. The next three goals rapid succession at 80', 81' and 89'.

Life U will be back in action on Oct. 6 as they travel to Williamsburg, Ky. to face off against the University of the Cumberlands.
