MARIETTA, Ga. – Life University (6-2) took care of business against Morris with a 103-67 blowout on Saturday.
"We were able to accomplish some good things today, especially getting everyone some really good minutes," Head Coach
Keith Adkins said. "But, we still have a few things that are keeping us from making the progress that we need. Turnovers continue to be the one area we are not seeing the improvement I would like. We have to place more value on the possession of the ball."
Five Running Eagles scored double-digits in the win. Junior
David Scott paced the squad with a new career-high of 19 points, as well as nine rebounds, two steals and an assist. Senior
Michael Miller posted 16 points with three assists, two rebounds and a steal. Senior
Ivan Benkovic logged 14 points, four rebounds, and two steals. Senior
Undra Mitchem and sophomore
Connor Gamble contributed 11 points apiece.
Life U started the game guns blazing and never trailed. They opened on a 14-2 run and never looked back. Their largest lead of the first half came at 36-17 with 7:12 left in the period. The Running Eagles took a 50-37 lead into the intermission.
The second half continued to be dominated by Life U. They pushed the lead out to 20 at 77-54 with 7:32 left in the game. The Running Eagles kept rolling, and went up by over 30 points at 90-59 with 3:51 left. They eventually took the victory 103-67.
Life U is back in action tomorrow as they welcome Thomas University to the Eagles' Nest.
