Sam Clark was excited about the second-year program's positive start.

"This was a good result," Clark said. "We were able to give every player an opportunity to play a significant amount of minutes, as we are still evaluating and building our style of play. It was great to be able to watch every player contribute to the win."

The Running Eagles broke the seal when Davis, a native of Jacksonville, Fla., drilled a shot into the net at '39, and gave the squad a 1-0 lead headed into the half.

A product of Purcellville, Va., Garcia score the first goal of her career at '64, and gave Life U a 2-0 lead.

The Running Eagles outshot the Barons 28-10 and limited them to just five shots on goal. Freshman
Julia Bernhardt went the distance in the goal to pick up the first win of her career.

Life U will open the home schedule on Thursday, Aug. 17 as they welcome Montreat to Lupo Family Field. First kick is scheduled for 3 pm.
