MARIETTA, Ga. – Life University (3-3) fell to Faulkner University (4-0-1) 2-0 in a defensive struggle on Sunday night. The was the first time all season that the Running Eagles were shut out in a match.
Â
"This was a disappointing loss versus a good side," Head Coach
Alex Pama said. "It was a tale of them taking their opportunities and us missing ours. We had too many players who couldn't reach their normal levels of play, which was a problem for us. This was the first time our offense was shut out, so kudos to Faulkner for a good performance on their end."
Â
Faulkner outshot Life U 15-7 on the night, with six shots on goal compared to four. Junior
Joe Davis suffered his third loss of the season with four saves on six shots on goal.

The first half set the stage for what would become a defensive stalemate for most of the match. Faulkner managed to get on the board first with a goal late in the period at 43', taking a 1-0 lead into the half.
Â
The second half turned out to be more of the same defensive back-and-forth. Faulkner put the game away late in the game with a goal at 86'. They came away with the 2-0 victory.
