BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – Life University (13-3) came up short against Union College (14-4) 3-0 (22-25, 20-25, 18-25).

Liz Mann paced the squad with a double-double of 11 kills and 10 digs. Junior Gaby Ferrán added 20 digs, a kill, an assist and an ace. Junior
Miriam Goodfriend contributed 23 assists, with three kills and eight digs.

The Running Eagles started slow as Union opened the match on a 12-5 run. Life U kept fighting and chipping away at the lead cutting it to 24-22. However, UC claimed the frame 25-22 on the next point.

The second set did not fare much better for the Running Eagles, they fell victim to several point runs by the home team. Union started the frame with a 8-4 run and continued to build on it. At its height, they lead by 21-14. Life U managed to find a 5-0 run of their to cut the lead to 21-18, but two attack errors would lead to their demise in the frame 25-20.

The Running Eagles woes continued into the third set, with a 10-2 run by Union to start the frame. They grinded and slowly chipped away to cut the lead to 22-16. Ultimately, they could not overcome their slow start and fell 25-18 in the final set.

Life U will be back in action as they travel to Canton, Ga. to face off against Reinhardt.
