MARIETTA, Ga. – Life University (3-5) fell to Faulkner (2-4) 3-2 on Monday.
 
"This is the best soccer I've seen our team play," Head Coach Sam Clark said. "We dominated the game in its entirety. Unfortunately, we were robbed of two goals tonight, but that is something we cannot control. Our team has nothing to hang their heads about tonight."
 
Despite the loss, the Running Eagles outshot Faulkner 13-9, with 10 shots on goal compared to seven. Sophomore Klaudia Cancino scored both goals for Life U. Freshman Pien van Kampen suffered her second loss of the season allowing three goals with four saves.
 
The match began with a defensive back-and-forth. However, Cancino would find the back of the net at 22' to score the match's first goal. The Running Eagles would take a 1-0 lead into the half.
 
The second half proved to be way more aggressive that the first. Faulkner scored the equalizer at 54'. They would take their first lead a short while later at 60' at 2-1. Life tied the match once more at 67' as Cancino found the back of the net. However, Faulkner would take the lead and the match 3-2with a goal at 79'.
 
The Running Eagles will now turn their attention to Mid-South Conference play with Pikeville coming to town on Friday, Sept. 29.
