WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. ---- The Life University women's volleyball team fell to the University of the Cumberlands in Mid-South Conference play on the road 3-0 Friday night.
NOTES
• Life U fell to 9-17 (3-5) on the year, while Cumberlands improved to 16-8 (6-4).
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
•
Liz Mann led the way for Life U with a double-double on 13 kills and 10 digs.
•
Gaby Ferran picked up seven kills with 10 digs.
•
Marin Black added 19 digs defensively to lead the team, as
Taylor Parrish finished with 21 assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Cumberlands led 7-2 early in set one, however a late 5-0 run from Life U brought the set to within two, 17-15. Cumberlands finished the set ahead 25-19 for an early 1-0 lead.
• Life U held a narrow lead throughout the early points of the second set, as a kill from Zimmerman put the Running Eagles ahead 10-9. An 8-3 Cumberlands run gave the Patriots an 18-14 lead later in the set.
• Life U fell 25-19 in the second set as well.
• Life U held an early 10-6 lead in set three, however a 10-2 Cumberlands run gave the Patriots a 16-12 lead. The Running Eagles went on a 3-0 run to trail by one, 16-15.
• A kill from Mann late in the set brought Life U to within one, 24-23, however Cumberlands picked up the final point of the match to win the set 25-23, and the match 3-0.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Cumberlands led Life U in kills 42-32. Life U finished with a hitting percentage of .086 as Cumberlands finished with a .240.
• Life U committed 22 errors to the 13 from Cumberlands.
• Cumberlands held a 7-4 advantage in blocks over Life U, and led 55-53 in digs.
