MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The Life University women's volleyball team fell in three straight sets to (RV) Georgetown College Tuesday night in the home Mid-South Conference match.
NOTES
• Life U fell to 9-18 (3-6) on the year, while Georgetown improved to 16-10 (8-2).
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
•
Chelsea Hill led the way for the Running Eagles with a double-double on 10 kills and 10 digs.
•
Marin Black finished with 18 digs to lead the team, as
Amber Harris picked up 20 assists in the match.
•
Alia Dorland also finished in double digits with 11 digs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Georgetown led early 9-2 over Life U, and maintained a double digit lead eventually going up 20-9 after a 5-0 run. The Tigers finished the first set on an ace to take the 25-14 decisive first set victory.
• Georgetown again had an early lead 9-3 in set two. A 5-1 Life U run cut the lead to three, 11-8, halfway through the set. A kill from Narvaez tied the set at 16, however an 8-1 run from Georgetown put the Tigers one point away from going up 2-0. Bozman recorded the final kill as Georgetown earned the 25-19 victory in set two.
• Life U held its first lead of the day, 4-2, early in set three before a 9-0 run from Georgetown put the Tigers ahead 11-4. A lengthy 13-5 run from Life U cut the lead to one, 16-15. Georgetown maintained the lead throughout the rest of the set, as the Tigers finished the match on a 5-1 run for the 25-18 set three win over Life U. Georgetown earned the 3-0 match win in consecutive sets.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Georgetown led Life U in kills 37-30. Life U finished with a hitting percentage of .031 as Georgetown finished with a .188.
• Life U committed 26 errors to the 15 from Georgetown.
• Georgetown held a 7-4 advantage in blocks over Life U, and the Tigers held a 65-59 advantage in digs over the Running Eagles.
