MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The Life University women's soccer team fell Tuesday night to No. 24 nationally ranked University of the Cumberlands 3-2 in the home Mid-South Conference matchup.
NOTES
• Life U fell to 4-9-0 (0-4-0) on the year, while Cumberlands improved to 14-1-1 (4-1-1).
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
•
Callie Lambert led the way offensively for the Running Eagles, as she scored both goals and posted a game-high five total shots.
•
Jasmine Turner added two shots and assisted on both goals for Life U.
•
Sydney Young picked up three saves in goal for Life U.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Life U took an early 1-0 lead in the ninth minute of the match as a header from Lambert was finished into the back of the net off the corner from Turner.
• Cumberlands responded just two minutes later on a corner that found the foot of Little in the box to tie the match at 1-1.
• Five minutes before the half, Cumberlands took a 2-1 lead with a goal from LeMaster. The Patriots held the 2-1 advantage at the half.
• Life U tied the match at 2-2 in the 78
thminute as Lambert picked up her second of the game with the assist from Turner.
• Cumberlands found the game-winner in the 87
thminute of play as Glasgow gave the Patriots the lead for good to earn the 3-2 MSC victory over Life U.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Cumberlands outshot Life U 12-10 during the match. The Patriots held the advantage in shots on frame over the Running Eagles 7-3.
• Cumberlands held a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks over Life U.
