PIKEVILLE, Ky. ---- The Life University women's soccer team earned its second consecutive Mid-South Conference win Monday afternoon with a 3-0 road victory over the University of Pikeville.
NOTES
• Life U improved to 6-9 (2-4) on the year, while Pikeville fell to 2-14 (0-6).
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
•
Callie Lambert scored her fifth goal in three matches and led the team with 10 total shots. She also added an assist in the match.
•
Irene Munoz-Rodriguez also scored for the Running Eagles and finished with two shots in the match.
•
Sydney Young added her second consecutive shutout with four saves.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Life U took an early 1-0 lead in the 11
thminute Lambert scored with the assist coming from Turner.
• The Life U defense only allowed two shots on frame in the first half, as the Running Eagles went into the half ahead 1-0.
• Life U scored its second goal of the match in the 66
thminute of the match as Turner put a hard shot on frame that was saved by the Pikeville keeper, however the ricochet hit off of a Pikeville defender into the goal for a 2-0 Running Eagle lead.
• Munoz-Rodriguez added the final goal of the match in the 79
thminute with the assist from Lambert to give Life U the 3-0 lead.
• Life U held onto the lead and did not allow a shot in the final 17 minutes of the match to earn the 3-0 road MSC victory over Pikeville.

• Life U outshot Pikeville 26-6 during the match. The Running Eagles held the advantage in shots on frame over the Bears 11-4.
