LEBANON, Tenn. ---- The Life University men's soccer team fell late in overtime to Cumberland University 2-1 in the road Mid-South Conference match Wednesday night.
NOTES
• Life U fell to 4-7-1 (0-1) on the year, while Cumberland improved to 2-4-2 (1-0).
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
•
Jacob Bivens scored the lone goal for the Running Eagles and finished with three total shots as two were on frame.
•
Eddy Diaz added three shots with two on frame as well.
•
Thierry Jules and
Henry Hernandez each finished with a shot on frame in the match.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Life U had the only shot on frame in the first half, as Hernandez launched an effort in the 35
thminute that required the Cumberland keeper to make the save.
• At the half, the score remained tied 0-0.
• Three minutes into the second half, Bivens placed a shot on frame for Life U, but once again the Cumberland keeper kept the ball out of the net.
• Bivens gave the Running Eagles a 1-0 lead on a long shot with an empty net in the 66
thminute.
• Cumberland picked up its first shot of the match in the 67
thminute of the match that required Pekruhl to make the save.
• With just 45 seconds on the clock, the Phoenix found the equalizer on a header from Udulutch to send the game to overtime tied 1-1.
• Eight minutes into the first period of extra time, Bagayoko scored the golden goal for Cumberland to give the Phoenix the 2-1 overtime victory.

• Cumberland outshot Life U 15-12 during the match. The Running Eagles held the advantage in shots on frame over the Phoenix 6-4.
