MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The Life University women's soccer team fell Sunday afternoon to Georgetown College 3-2 at home in a Mid-South Conference matchup.
NOTES
• Life U fell to 4-7-0 (0-2-0) on the year, while Georgetown improved to 4-7-0 (1-2-0).
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
•
Wilma Moberg led the way for Life U offensively with both goals for the Running Eagles.
•
Josie Davis and
Callie Lambert each picked up six shots during the match, as Lambert finished with four on frame, while Davis tallied two.
•
Jasmine Turner added three shots in the match with
Laura Howard placing two shots on frame.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Life U took an early 1-0 lead in the 17
thminute of the match as Moberg finished the penalty into the lower right corner.
• Georgetown tied the match at one five minutes before the half with a goal from Zimmer. She was assisted by Kerseg as the Tigers and Running Eagles went into the half tied at one.
• Georgetown came out on the offensive in the second half with a goal from Massey that was assisted by Lochow in the 53
rdminute to give the Tigers a 2-1 lead.
• Life U was unable to find the equalizer with seven shots in the next 20 minutes, however Georgetown scored its third goal of the match as Massey scored her second in the 76
thminute. The Tigers led 3-1 with under 15 minutes remaining in the match.
• Moberg scored her second goal of the match in the 89
thminute to bring the score to 3-2, however the Running Eagles were unable to find the equalizer in the final minute as Georgetown earned the 3-2 MSC win.
