MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The Life University women's basketball team improved to 3-0 at home Thursday night with a 90-64 win over Brewton-Parker.
NOTES
• Life U improved to 4-2 on the year, while Brewton-Parker fell to 2-3.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• Namoi House led the way for Life U offensively with 18 points. She added five rebounds with three assists and two steals.
•
Damiya Montgomery also finished in double figures with 17 points on three boards and an assist with a steal. She finished a perfect 6-for-6 from the charity stripe and 5-for-8 from the field.
•
Tierra Tullis was the final Running Eagle to finish in double digits with 12 points. She totaled a team-high four assists with two steals.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Life U never trailed in the game, and a jumper from K. Glenn put the Running Eagles up by 10, 14-4.
• Tullis made the final basket for Life U in the first quarter with 30 seconds on the clock as the Running Eagles led the Barons 16-5 after the first ten minutes.
• Brewton-Parker cut the lead to six, 29-23, after a 10-5 run with four minutes remaining in the first half.
• A 10-2 Life U run was finished with a layup from Montgomery at the two minute mark for a 39-25 Life U lead. The Running Eagles led the Barons by 15, 43-28, at the half after a pair of free-throws from House.
• With just under four minutes remaining in the third quarter, a layup from Brown but the Running Eagles ahead by 20, 59-39. Life U led by 24, 67-34, at the end of the third with a pair of free-throws by Montgomery.
• Life U maintained the dominating lead throughout the fourth quarter, as they jumped out to a game-high 30-point lead, 90-60, with a pair of free-throws from Montgomery. The Running Eagles held on to win the game 90-64 over the Barons.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Life U finished 30-for-61 from the field, 49.2%, while Brewton-Parker shot 23-for-70, 32.9%.
• Life U held the advantage in the turnover margin over Brewton-Parker 25-33, and converted 33 points off of the turnovers.
• Life U shot 23-for-32, 71.9%, from the free-throw line as Brewton-Parker finished 12-for-19, 63.2%.
• Life U led Brewton-Parker in bench points 43-22.
