MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The Life University women's volleyball team defeated the University of Pikeville in three consecutive sets on senior night Friday.

• Life U improved to 10-21 (4-9) on the year, while Pikeville fell to 10-23 (0-14).

STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• Mann led the Running Eagles offensively with 15 kills and three service aces.
• Alvis totaled 18 digs while Ferran and
Mary Zimmerman picked up eight kills each.

Amber Harris provided a season-high 39 assists in the match.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Early in set one, Life U led 9-6 after a service ace from Black. Leading 14-11, Life U used an 8-0 run to lead by double digits, 22-11. Hill provided the final kill in the first set as the Running Eagles went up 1-0 with the 25-18 scoreline
• Pikeville held a brief 10-9 lead in set two, as Life U used a 7-1 run that was finished with a solo block from Mann to lead 16-11.
• Pikeville used a 7-1 run to lead 18-17 before a 6-1 run put Life U ahead 23-19 with the kill from Ferran. A service error gave set two to the Running Eagles 25-22.
• Life U led 9-4 in set three, however the Bears responded with a 9-0 run to lead by four. A 6-2 run for the Running Eagles was finished with a kill from Mann to give Life U the 17-16 advantage. A 7-3 Life U run finished the match in three sets as Hill recorded the final kill for the 25-20 win in set three.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Life U led Pikeville in kills 45-26. Life U finished with a hitting percentage of .341 as Pikeville finished with a .133.
• Both teams committed 14 errors in the match.
• Both teams also had five blocks as the Running Eagles held a 46-32 advantage in digs over the Bears.
