MARIETTA, Ga. – Life University (10-17, 1-11 MSC) fell 92-53 to No. Lindsey Wilson (23-5, 9-3 MSC) on Saturday.
Two Running Eagles finished in double digits on the day. Senior
Kennesha Nichols paced the squad with a double-double of 17 points and 12 rebounds as well as a steal. Sophomore
Damiya Montgomery put up 15 points with five rebounds, two steals and an assist.
Life U led briefly to start the game with a 4-3 advantage. However, that lead would not hold as the Blue Raiders took the lead to stay a minute later at 5-4. LWC closed out the opening quarter with 21-14 lead. In the second quarter, they continued to build their lead and pushed it to double digits for the first time at 27-16. The Blue Raiders took a 44-25 lead into the break.
After the intermission, Lindsey Wilson pushed their lead to 46-25. They took a 67-37 lead into the final 10 minutes of the half. In the final quarter, LWC pushed out to their largest lead of the game at 87-47. They finished with a 92-53 victory.
The Running Eagles will be back in action as they close out the non-conference portion of the season on as they travel o Selma, Ala. on Tuesday, Feb. 20 to take on Selma University.
