MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The Life University men's soccer team used a strong first half to hold on for a 6-5 victory over Talladega College Saturday afternoon.
NOTES
• Life U improved to 4-6-1 on the year, while Talladega fell to 3-3.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS

Thierry Jules earned his first career hat trick with two assists to lead Life U offensively.
•
Steinar Magnusson scored his third goal of the year as
Sergio Sereeira added his third as well.
Henry Hernandez scored his first goal of the season in the match.

Javi Romero,
Wessley Soronellas,
Davis Magee, Magnusson and Sereeira all added assists during the match as well.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Within the first minute of the match, a corner from Romero was sent forward by Soronellas who found Jules to give Life U an early 1-0 lead.
• Jules scored his second goal of the match in the ninth minute with the assist from Magee to increase the lead to two.
• Talladega tied the match at two within a two-minute period with goals from Tavares in the 16
thminute and Dinis in the 18
thminute.
• Life U regained the lead in the 32
ndminute as Jules connected with Magnusson for a 3-2 advantage in favor of the Running Eagles.
• Jules picked up his hat trick in the 34
thminute with an assist from Sereeira. Sereeira then scored his goal in the 36
thminute with the assists being credited to Jules and Magnusson.
• Hernandez scored the final goal of the first half in the 40
thminute of the match to give Life U a 6-2 lead over Talladega at the break.
• 25 minutes into the second half the score line remained the same. Talladega netted three goals in the next seven minutes to cut the Life U lead to one, 6-5, with 12 minutes on the clock.
• The Running Eagles locked down defensively and did not allow a shot on frame in the final minutes to earn the 6-5 victory over the Tornadoes.

• Talladega outshot Life U 21-20 during the match. The Running Eagles held the advantage in shots on frame over the Tornadoes 11-9.
• Life U held the advantage in corner kicks over Talladega 5-3.
