PORTSMOUTH, Ohio ---- The Life University women's basketball team fell to No. 8 nationally ranked Shawnee State University 92-58 on the road Saturday afternoon in the Mid-South Conference Matchup.
NOTES
• Life U fell to 11-4 (1-2) on the year, while Shawnee improved to 16-3 (3-0).
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
•
Naomi House led the way offensively for the Running Eagles with 13 points, six rebounds and two steals.
•
Tierra Lindsey (10) and
Damiya Montgomery (11) also finished in double figures.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Both teams traded points in the first ten minutes of the game, as Shawnee held a five-point lead (17-12) four minutes in. The Running Eagles finished the final six minutes on a 7-2 run to tie the game at 19 with successful attempts from the free-throw line.
• Neither team held much of a lead in the second quarter, however a deep three from Montgomery put the Running Eagles ahead 27-24 with 6:27 on the clock.
• Shawnee finished the half on an 18-2 run to lead 42-29 at the break.
• Shawnee led by double figures the remainder of the game as the Life U offense struggled to put points on the board. The Bears took the Mid-South Conference game by a final score of 92-58.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Life U finished 19-for-78 from the field, 24.4%, while Shawnee shot 32-for-75, 42.7%.
• Life U shot 14-for-29, 48.3%, from the free-throw line as Shawnee finished 16-for-25, 64%.
• Life U outrebounded Shawnee 47-42.

• The women's basketball team will return to action on Thursday, January 17 as they continue MSC host No. 7 Campbellsville University on a neutral court at Reinhardt University. The game is scheduled to begin at 6 PM.
