Women's Basketball Drops MSC Contest to No. 6 Campbellsville

WALESKA, Ga ---- The Life University women's basketball team fell to No. 6 nationally ranked Campbellsville University 91-57 in the Mid-South Conference matchup that was hosted at Reinhardt University Thursday night.  
 
NOTES
• Life U fell to 11-5 (1-3) on the year, while Campbellsville improved to 18-2 (4-0).
 
STANDOUT PERFORMERS 
Damiya Montgomery was the only Running Eagle to finish in double figures offensively with 10 points. She was a perfect 8-for-8 from the charity stripe with three rebounds, two assists and a steal.
Tierra Lindsey added eight points with six rebounds as Lakerra Lawson finished with seven.  
 
HOW IT HAPPENED 
• Campbellsville jumped out to an early 10-2 lead early in the first quarter, as the Tigers finished the first ten minutes ahead by 15, 26-11.
• The Tigers held a double-digit lead for the remainder of the game as Campbellsville led 43-21 at the half. 
• The slow start proved to be too much for Life U as Campbellsville continued to hold a 20-point advantage throughout the third quarter and finished the third quarter ahead 71-39.
• Campbellsville finished the game maintaining its lead to take the MSC matchup 91-57. 
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Life U finished 20-for-65 from the field, 30.8%, while Campbellsville shot 32-for-62, 51.6%.
• Life U shot 15-for-19, 78.9%, from the free-throw line as Campbellsville finished 22-for-29, 75.9%. 
• Campbellsville outscored Life U 50-32 in the paint.

• The women's basketball team will return to action on Sunday, January 20 as they continue MSC play and host Georgetown College at 12 PM.
