MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The Life University women's basketball team defeated Carver College at home 90-71 Monday night as the team picked up 18 steals.
NOTES
• Life U improved to 15-9 on the year.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
•
Maeisha Teasley recorded a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds with five steals.
•
Diamond Atkins also finished with a double-double on 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Kiana Glenn each finished with 15 as
Lakerra Lawson added 13.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Six minutes into the first quarter, neither team had much offensive production as Carver held a slight 9-8 lead over Life U. The Running Eagles finished the quarter on a 9-4 run to lead by four, 17-13, as Teasley scored the final basket of the quarter.
• Five minutes into the second quarter the Cougars cut the lead to three, 27-24, however the Running Eagles responded with a 7-1 run that was finished by a pair of free-throws from Brown with 3:05 left in the quarter to lead 34-25.
• Life U finished the quarter on a 4-0 run that was finished with a layup from Glenn just before the buzzer to put the Running Eagles ahead 42-34 at the break.
• Life U began to pull away in the third quarter as the team maintained a double-digit lead for nearly the entire ten minutes. A jumper from Brown with 1:43 remaining in the quarter put Life U ahead by 17, 64-47, as the Running Eagles led 67-52 heading into the fourth quarter.
• Tullis converted an and-one opportunity five minutes into the quarter to put the Running Eagles ahead by a game-high 23, 80-57. Life U held out as Montgomery connected on a pair of free-throws inside ten seconds to finish the scoring for both teams. The Running Eagles earned the 90-71 victory at home.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Life U finished 30-for-79 from the field, 38%, while Carver shot 21-for-71, 29.6%.
• Life U shot 23-for-27, 85.2%, from the free-throw line as Carver finished 21-for-30, 70%.
• Life U forced 28 turnovers and scored 22 points off of them. Life U also scored 53 points off the bench.
