MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The Life University men's volleyball team swept Emmanuel College 3-0 at home Tuesday night to move to 2-0 on the year over the Lions.
NOTES
• Life U improved to 4-1, while Emmanuel fell to 4-7.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS

Alejandro Gonzalez led the Running Eagles offensively with 15 kills and an attacking percentage of .367.

Javier Cornier and
Luke Allmond each added ten kills.

Allain Larroche picked up 40 assists as
Livan Moreno finished with 12 digs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Life U led 7-3 early in set one after a block by Allmond and Gonzalez. Emmanuel fought back to tie the set at 15, however a late 6-1 burst from the Running Eagles put Life U ahead 21-16 after the kill from Gonzalez.
• Emmanuel responded with a 4-0 run to cut the lead to one 21-20, however Life U finished the set on a 4-0 run as Gonzalez picked up the final kill to win 25-20.
• Emmanuel led 4-3 early in set two, however a 5-1 run from Life U was finished again by Gonzalez to put the Running Eagles ahead 8-5.
• Both teams traded the lead in set three, as Emmanuel held a slight 12-10 advantage halfway through the set. Life U responded with a 6-1 run that was finished by a pair of kills from Gonzalez to lead 16-13.
• A late 4-1 run put the Running Eagles ahead 21-15 with the kill from Perez as Life U finished set two on a 3-1 run with Gonzalez picking up the block to win 25-18.
• Life U led 6-2 early in set three, however Emmanuel roared back with a 7-1 run to lead 9-7. The Running Eagles responded immediately with a 5-0 run that was finished with a kill from Allmond to lead 12-9.
• A late 4-0 run from Emmanuel cut the lead to one, 18-17, however Life U finished the match on a 4-1 run as Moreno recorded the final kill to win 25-19 as the Running Eagles won in three straight sets over the Lions.

• Life U led Emmanuel in kills 50-27. Life U finished with a hitting percentage of .364 as Emmanuel finished with a .097.
• Life U led Emmanuel in digs, 44-30.

• The men's volleyball team will return to action Friday, February 8 as they begin play in the LU Classic that will be hosted in the Eagles' Nest Friday and Saturday. The Running Eagles will begin play Friday at 3 PM against Campbellsville University and will also play Midway University at 7 PM.
