MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The Life University women's lacrosse team fell to No. 3 nationally ranked University of the Cumberlands at home in the Mid-South Conference opener for both teams.
NOTES
• Life U fell to 5-2 (0-1), as Cumberlands improved to 9-1 (1-0).

Lacy Legaspi and Laruen Rielly each scored a goal for the Running Eagles.
• Eagen and Rielly tallied the only assists for the game.

Julia Bernhardt added three ground balls as
Jewelya Nelson caused three turnovers.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Cumberlands jumped out to an early 1-0 lead 20 seconds into the game.
• Life U responded with a goal from Rielly two minutes later to knot the score at one.
• Cumberlands scored again 23 seconds later to take a 2-1 advantage. Again, Life U answered back with a goal from Legaspi with 26:43 on the clock.
• Cumberlands scored six unanswered before Eagen found the back of the net for Life U. The Patriots scored one more before the half to lead 9-3 at the break.
• The Patriots started the second half on a 3-0 run, however Simmer scored for Life U with 11:33 remaining in the game as Cumberlands held a 12-4 lead. The Patriots finished the game with four goals in the final nine minutes to win 16-4.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Life U finished with 26 total shots as 15 were on frame. Cumberlands tallied 38 shots with 30 on frame.
• Life U led Cumberlands in saves 14-11, however Cumberlands held the advantage in turnover margin over Life U 26-19.
• Life U was 6-of-13 on clears during the game as Cumberlands finished 10-of-14.
• Life U picked up 15 ground balls compared to the 22 from Cumberlands. Cumberlands also led Life U 12-9 in draw controls throughout the game.
