MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The Life University women's lacrosse team earned its third consecutive double-digit victory of the week with a 15-5 decision at home over Madonna University.
NOTES
• Life U improved to 5-1, as Madonna fell to 1-2.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS

Brianna Freeman and
Lauren Rielly each added a hat-trick in the game as Rielly added three ground balls and two draw controls.
•
Bridgett Simmer,
Sandy Le and
Kelly Beshaw each picked up two goals. Simmer and Beshaw also tallied four ground balls each.
•
Jewelya Nelson,
Darion Eagen and
Skylar Clum also scored in the game as Nelson led the team with two assists.
•
Kayla Hamlett played all 60 minutes in goal and tallied eight saves.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Five minutes into the first half, Freeman picked up a pair of goals to put Life U ahead 2-0.
• Madonna scored in the seventh and 12
th minute as Le scored in the 11
th. The Running Eagles held a narrow 3-2 lead at the halfway mark in the first half.
• Beshaw, Simmer and Freeman each scored to put Life U ahead 6-2 with 4:33 remaining in the half.
• Madonna cut the lead to three, 6-3, with a goal at the 4:09 mark. Life U finished the half with two additional goals from Nelson and Eagen to lead 8-3 at the break.
• Life U outscored Madonna 7-2 in the second half to earn the 15-5 victory at home.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Life U finished with 34 total shots as 27 were on frame. Madonna tallied 20 shots with 13 on frame.
• Madonna led Life U in saves 12-8, however Life U held the advantage in turnover margin over Madonna 28-24.
• Life U was 11-of-14 on clears during the game as Madonna finished 10-of-15.
• Life U picked up 29 ground balls compared to the 16 from Madonna. Madonna led Life U 12-8 in draw controls throughout the game.
