MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The Life University women's lacrosse team finished its inaugural regular season with a 10-5 victory at home over NCAA DII Shorter College Tuesday afternoon.

• Life U finishes the regular season to 7-7, as Shorter fell to 5-9.

STANDOUT PERFORMERSÂ
•
Julia Thompson recorded 15 saves in goal for the Running Eagles to preserve the win.
•
Lauren Rielly picked up her ninth multi-goal game of the year with four. She added two assists and three ground balls.
•
Lyndsey Kallish added two goals as
Darion Eagen finished with five ground balls, three draw controls, an assist and a goal. Â

Sandy Le finished with a team-high four caused turnovers with three ground balls. Â

HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
• Life U took a 1-0 lead 12 minutes into the first half as Bader found the back of the net.
• Shorter responded with a goal a minute later, however Rielly and Kallish scored two goals each to put the Running Eagles ahead 5-1 at the half.
• Eagen scored first in the second half 11 seconds in, however a minute later Shorter responded cutting the lead to four, 6-2. Â
• Nelson scored with 27:21 on the clock to put Life U ahead 7-2, but shorter scored two in a row to cut the lead to three, 7-4, with 25 minutes in the game.
• Rielly again scored a pair as Mendez also found the back of the net in a 3-0 run for Life you that put the Running Eagles ahead 10-4 with ten minutes remaining in the game.
• Shorter scored the final goal of the game with four minutes remaining, however the Life U defense held strong to preserve the 10-5 win to close out the regular season.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Life U finished with 26 total shots as 20 were on frame. Shorter tallied 24 shots with 20 on frame as well.
• Life U held a 15-10 advantage over Shorter in saves.
• Life U was 23-of-32 on clears during the game as Shorter finished 20-of-27.
• Shorter committed 38 turnovers in the game as Life U finished with 37.
• Life U picked up 31 ground balls compared to the 25 from Shorter. Shorter narrowly led Life U 9-8 in draw controls throughout the game.
