MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The Life University women's volleyball team defeated Faulkner University 3-1 Tuesday night after a dominating statistical performance. 
 
NOTES
• Life U improved to 8-4 on the year, as Faulkner Fell to 4-5.
• Life U finished ahead in each statistical category except for aces as both teams finished with eight.
 
STANDOUT PERFORMERS 
• Lena Pucnik led the way offensively with 19 kills and hit .349 on the night.
• Zykeria Allen added a double-double on 11 kills and 12 digs. Mary Zimmerman finished with 12 kills and seven block assists with two solo blocks.
• Defensively, Marin Black totaled 22 digs as Alia Dorland finished with 21. Michele O'Haver also picked up 13. 
• Taylor Parrish totaled 46 assists in the match. 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED 
• Life U never trailed in the first set, as the Running Eagles held an early 9-7 advantage. The Running Eagles exploded offensively with an 11-2 run to take a commanding 20-9 lead. Zimmerman and Furness picked up kills late in the set as a block by Furness and Pucnik ended the set 25-13.
• Life U held an early 6-4 lead in set two before a 5-0 run gave the Running Eagles an 11-4 advantage. Faulkner responded with a 6-0 run to bring the set to within one, 11-10. The two teams battled for the lead as Faulkner tied the set at 18. Life U took a two-set lead with a 7-0 run that was finished by a block from Neal and Zimmerman 25-18.
• Faulkner led 7-5 early in set three, before a short 3-0 run from Life U to give the Running Eagles an 8-7 lead. Faulkner responded with a 10-2 run to take a commanding 17-10 lead. The Eagles held onto the advantage to take the third set 25-18.
• The fourth set went back and forth early before Faulkner led 13-11. Life U responded with a 10-2 run that was finished on a kill from Pucnik to take a commanding 21-15 lead. Life U finished the set on a 4-1 run as Pucnik sealed the victory with an ace 25-17.

• Life U led Faulkner in kills 54-29. Life U finished with a hitting percentage of .174 as Faulkner finished with a .000.
• Life U also led Faulkner in digs 91-86.
• Life U finished with a commanding 12-1 advantage over Faulkner in blocks.

• The women's volleyball team will return to action on Thursday, September 12, as they return to Mid-South Conference play and travel to Campbellsville, Kentucky to face Campbellsville University at 7 PM.
