ATHENS, Tenn. ---- The Life University men's soccer team fell in the final four minutes to Tennessee Wesleyan 1-0 on the road Tuesday night.
NOTES
• Life U fell to 1-1 on the year as Tennessee Wesleyan improved to 4-1.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
•
Thierry Jules finished with a team-high two shots on frame with two shots in the match.
•
Martin Cortes added a pair of shots with one on frame.
Wessley Soronellas and
Steinar Magnusson each added a shot on frame as well.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Neither team could find much offensive rhythm in the first half as each team had just one shot on frame through the first 25 minutes.
• With six minutes remaining in the half, Soronellas forced the Tennessee Wesleyan keeper to make a save and Jules added his own attempt off a corner thirty seconds later.
• At the break, the score remained tied 1-0.
• Cortes nearly found the back of the net in the 80
th minute on a set piece from ten yards out of the box that forced the Tennessee Wesleyan keeper to make a diving save.
• Tennessee Wesleyan broke through in the 86
th minute on a corner that was headed in to give the Bulldogs the 1-0 result.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Tennessee Wesleyan outshot Life U 10-7 during the match. The Running Eagles however held the advantage in shots on frame over the Bulldogs 5-3.
• Both teams earned seven corner kicks throughout the match.
• Tennessee Wesleyan led Life U 5-2 in saves.

• The men's soccer team will return to action on Saturday, September 7 when they travel to Waleska, Ga. to face No. 24 nationally ranked Reinhardt University at 7 PM.
