Life U Women Drop Overtime Matchup in Lebanon

The Women take Cumberland past regulation after Jumper from Glenn.

LEBANON, TENN. — The Women traveled to Cumberland University, taking another game past regulation on Saturday. The Running Eagles would lose 90-94.

Life U would outscore the Phoenix in the first quarter 22 to 18. The score would fluctuate from one team to the other, but Life U would score 16 points off of turnovers in the first 10 minutes alone. 

The second quarter would play out similarly to the first, however the Women would keep their lead. With their defensive efforts, there were still things needed to be cleaned up after the half. The Running Eagles would shoot 50 percent from the field, and 71.4 percent from the charity stripe. Cumberland would outshoot them from the line, shooting 100 percent. 

Life U would come into the second half with a steal from Maeisha Teasley in the first 45 seconds. They would maintain a decent lead, and continue to do so until the turn of the five minute mark. Cumberland would lead by as much as 10 points before the Women would look to come back in the fourth. 

The score would stand at 63 points for three minutes before a fast break layup from Teasley. Kiana Glenn would follow with a three pointer just a few possessions later. The Women would have several lead changes in the final minutes of regulation before Glenn would tie the game up at 82 points with two seconds to spare. 

OVERTIME 

The Women would enter overtime holding their lead for two-and-a-half minutes before the Phoenix would take a lead after a layup from Cumberland's Griffith. Cumberland would maintain their lead until the end of the overtime, closing out the game with a four point score margin. 

Efforts come from Maeisha Teasley, would finished the game with a double-double, having 18 points and 10 steals. Sydni Tears would be another offensive force for the Running Eagles with 19 points, and eight rebounds. Tierra Lindsey, Kiana Glenn and Cheyenne Daphney would all finish with double digits for the Women.
