LAKELAND, Fla. ---- The women's volleyball team played a pair of matches today, dominating Florida College in straight sets before taking the team's first loss of the season against Keiser University.
In the first match of the day, Life U had its way with Florida College on its way to a 3-0 victory and an 8-0 start to the season. The match got off to a quick start, the Running Eagles taking the first set 25-15. Florida College kept things closer in the second frame, sitting at a 19-19 tie before
Morgan Furness sparked a 5-0 run to pull away in the set. A 25-17 win in the third set, gave Life U the victory.
Lena Pucnik put together a ridiculous stat line in the game, recording a double-double with a game leading 17 kills (On a ridiculous .515 attack rating) and 18 digs to go along with three aces. Setter,
Taylor Rubtsov continued her strong start to the season with 34 assists, while defensively,
Michele O'Haver led both teams with 19 digs.
The final match of the day saw the Running Eagle's unblemished start to the season come to an end, losing in straight sets to Keiser.
Nearly half of the Life U kills in the match were recorded by Pucnik as she led the team with yet another double-double, registering 15 kills and 12 digs. Rubtsov did a good job setting again, leading both teams with 28 assists.
The team will play its final match of the Fall season in two weeks at Middle Georgia State on Friday, November 3rd at 7 PM.
