MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The Life University men's basketball team nearly matched Carver College's offensive output for the entire game in the first quarter as they coasted to an 89-43 victory Wednesday night in The Eagle's Nest.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• The Life U coaching staff was able to rotate many players into the game with the game out of reach early, helping five Running Eagle's players to break into double digit scoring.
Yesid Mosquera-Perea tied for the lead in points with 15 while grabbing seven boards.
Trey Kelly matched the game high with 15 points on his way to a double-double with 11 rebounds, coming off the bench.

Lorenzo Ferrell with 11, and
Jordan Hernandez with 10.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Cougars held a lead at 6-4 after three minutes had passed in the game, but a 15-0 run over a six minute span saw any threat to the Life U victory quickly extinguished. Quick hands by Life U defenders helped turn into quick buckets as the Running Eagle lead stood at 31-8 with over six minutes remaining in the half. Headed to the locker room for the break, Life U's lead stood at 42-19.
• The second half saw more of the same Mosquera-Perea, Ferrell, and Wirth all splashing in shots from deep in the first couple minutes of the half as the lead extended to 30 points at 51-21. The lead broke past 40 points after Kelly gathered an offensive rebound that he put back up and in for the 74-31 advantage with just over seven minutes remaining in play. The teams kept a pretty close pace with each other over the final minutes of the game as the Running Eagles cruised to an 89-43 win.
