CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. ---- The Life University men's volleyball team dropped a pair of road matches at Campbellsville University Saturday afternoon. The Running Eagles fell to Goshen College 3-1, before falling to the host No. 2 Tigers 3-0.
NOTES
• Life U dropped to 2-4 on the year.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS

Alex Gonzalez led the way for the Running Eagles with 22 kills offensively in both games. He added 18 digs as well.
•
Felipe Gonzalez added 14 kills on the day.
• Defensively, both
Javier De Leon and
Derek Negron picked up 10 digs in the first match as
Diego Perez added four block assists.
•
Allain Larroche finished with 77 assists in both games.
HOW IT HAPPENED GAME 1
• Both teams battled early on, but a 5-0 Life U run extended the lead to 14-7 in the middle of the first set. Goshen was unable to overcome the deficit as Life U earned the 25-18 win in set one.
• Life U held an early 12-9 lead in set two, as the two teams exchanged 3-0 runs four times before the Running Eagles led 18-15. Goshen trailed 23-21 late in the set, but a 4-0 run with a pair of attack errors gave the Maple Leafs the 25-23 lead.
• Life U briefly held a 7-6 lead early in set three as a 9-2 Goshen run put the Maple Leafs ahead 18-11. The Running Eagles responded with a 6-0 run to cut the deficit to two, 18-16. The two teams traded points as Goshen came away with the 25-21 win.
• Goshen took an early 10-8 lead in set four, but a 3-0 run gave Life U the lead. Goshen responded quickly with a 7-2 run to regain the lead 17-13. Trailing 20-14, Life U used a 6-1 run to bring the set to a one point frame, 21-20. Gonzalez responded with a kill late in the set defending match point, but the Maple Leafs picked up the next kill to win 25-23.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE GAME 1
• Life U led Goshen in kills 59-48. Life U finished with a hitting percentage of .255 as Goshen finished with a .225.
• Life U led Goshen in digs 56-55, however the Maple Leafs held a 7-2 advantage in aces.
• Life U committed 15 service errors to the 10 from Goshen.
HOW IT HAPPENED GAME 2
• Campbellsville jumped out to an early 12-6 lead in set one. A short 4-1 run from Life U was finished on a block from Cabana and Obrador to cut the lead to six, 19-13. A service error ended the set as the Tigers went ahead one game by a 25-18 scoreline.
• Campbellsville again held an early 10-5 lead. The Tigers maintained the lead as a 4-0 run ended the set 25-15 in favor of the host Campbellsville
• Life U held an early 9-7 lead in set three and extended the lead to three, 13-10 after a setting error. Campbellsville responded with a 5-1 run to take a 15-14 lead. Life U kept the set close, but Campbellsville finished the match on a 3-1 run to win 25-21.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE GAME 2
• Campbellsville led Life U in kills 34-27. Life U finished with a hitting percentage of .132 as Campbellsville finished with a .365.
• Campbellsville led Life U in digs 28-27.
• Campbellsville also led Life U in aces 10-1 and blocks 6-3.
