MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The (RV) Life University women's lacrosse team defeated (RV) Point University 18-12 Wednesday night in the 2020 home opener at Lupo Family Field.

STANDOUT PERFORMERSÂ

Tina Ricci led the way for the Running Eagles with a game-high five goals. She added three assists with eight ground balls and five draw controls.

Tori Adcox and
Lacy Legaspi each scored three goals with an assist.

Annslee Warchol and
Julia Rann each scored two goals as
Brianna Freeman,
Skylar Clum and
Leanne Windon scored one. Â

HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
• Point struck first 56 seconds into the game with a goal from Millican that was assisted by Mullions.
• 19 seconds later Adcox tied the game at one.
• Life U added three more goals as Rann tallied a pair and Clum scored to give the Running Eagles a 4-1 lead.
• Point managed to stop the run with a goal at the 10 minute mark, but Life U continued the offensive pressure with a goal from Freeman that was assisted by Ricci, who scored herself 50 seconds later.
• Point cut the Life U lead to two, 7-5, after a 3-1 scoring run that included a pair of man-up opportunities.
• Life U responded with a pair of goals from Legaspi and Warchol as Ricci and Freeman earned the assists to again lead by four, 9-5, with 2:27 left in the first half.
• Point scored two goals in the final minute as Life U held a 9-7 lead going into the break.
• Just under three minutes into the second half, Ricci found the back of the net. Point responded with a goal two minutes later to make the scoreline 10-8.
• Life U scored four unanswered goals over the next 13 minutes as Windon, Ricci (2) and Legaspi put the Running Eagles ahead 14-8 with 12:36 on the clock.
• The two teams traded 2-0 runs back and forth in the final ten minutes as Adcox sealed the game on an assist from Arvizu with six seconds on the clock. Life U earned the 18-12 win in the home opener over Point.

• Life U finished with 40 total shots as 26 were on frame. Point tallied 30 shots with 20 on frame.
• Both teams finished with eight saves.
• Life U was 26-of-35 on clears during the game as Point finished 23-of-28.
• Point committed 36 turnovers in the game as Life U finished with 25.
• Life U picked up 20 ground balls compared to the 26 from Marian. Marian led Life U 20-8 in draw controls throughout the game.
• Life U held a 34-16 advantage over Point in ground balls.
