MARIETTA, GA — The Running Eagles Men's Basketball team fell to No. 22 ranked Shawnee State on Thursday. The Men would fall 89-59.
The first half would start out with a burst of momentum for the Running Eagles. The Men would lead 10-8, and run the score up, leading 20-14. Shawnee State would come back at the midway mark in the first, but Life U would keep their lead as the time went down.
Efforts would prove favorable, with the Men still in the lead. The team would maintain good ball movement and keep Shawnee State trailing. The Bears would come back to close out the first half with a lead of 37-33.
Entering the second, Shawnee State would capitalize on their lead from the first. Three-pointers from Antwan Maxwell and Connor Gamble would keep the deficit from entering double-digits. But, the Bears would keep up the intensity and extend their lead from seven to 15. Life U would trail by as much as 30, and scored 26 points to SSU's 52 in the second half.
The Men would score 12 points off of turnovers to Shawnee State's 13. Shawnee State would outscore in multiple statistical categories over the Running Eagles.
Efforts would come from guard, Cam Horton who finished with 17 points for the men. Antwan Maxwell would finish out with 14 points and seven rebounds. Jordan Hernandez would finish with 12 points.
