No. 12 Women's Volleyball Dominates No. 21 Lindsey Wilson in Program-First Home Sweep

MARIETTA, Ga. ---- The record books continue to be written as the No. 12 Life University women's volleyball team swept No. 21 Lindsey Wilson at home Saturday afternoon for the first time in program history.

The Running Eagles had never defeated the Blue Raiders at home, but the win this afternoon extends the program-best win streak to 18 games and an overall record of 26-1. Life U earned the sweep 25-20, 25-17 and 25-18 to inch ever closer to securing first place within the Mid-South Conference standings.

Life U dominated the box score limiting the Blue Raiders to just 27 kills and a .188 hitting percentage. The Lindsey Wilson defense led with six blocks as Life U totaled two. The Running Eagles dominated the rest of the box score with 52 kills and a .267 hitting percentage, an 11-1 advantage in aces, 51-27 lead in assists and 61-40 in digs. 

For the first time this season, the Running Eagles finished with three players who recorded double digit kills and five players who tallied double digit digs. Lena Pucnik led the stat line with 21 kills, 10 digs, three service aces, a block assist and a hitting percentage of .356. Madison Evans finished the match with 13 kills and a .333 hitting percentage as Mary Zimmerman totaled 10 kills with a .467 hitting percentage. Jessie Prichard continued to quarterback the offense with 44 assists, 10 digs and a service ace. The defense was led by senior libero Marin Black, who totaled 16 digs and five service aces. Savannah Keener added 10 digs as Kennedy Neal totaled 11 digs with a service ace.

The women's volleyball team will return to action on Thursday, October, 28, when they travel to Pulaski, Tenn. to face the University of Tennessee Southern at 7 PM.
