MARIETTA, Ga. --- Rachel Wilson led the Life University Women's Basketball team with a double-double on 12 points and 10 rebounds, however the Running Eagles came up short in the fourth quarter in a 67-53 loss to Brewton-Parker at home Thursday night.

Brewton-Parker (8-3) opened the first quarter with an incredible 53.33% shooting percentage from the floor to take an early 19-16 lead. Life U (4-7) shot just under 32% in the first ten minutes, however only trailed by three. The Barons extended their lead in the second quarter with a 58.33% shooting percentage and a 2-for-4 mark from three. Life U managed 12 points in the quarter as Brewton-Parker held a 36-28 lead at the break.

After the half, the Barons jumped out to an 11-point lead with a three to lead 39-28. At the 7:40 mark, a layup gave Brewton-Parker a 41-32 advantage. A layup from Wilson began the comeback for Life U, who went on a 9-0 run to tie the game at 41 with 3:26 remaining in the third quarter. Brewton-Parker finished the quarter on a 9-2 run to lead 50-43 heading to the fourth, despite the Running Eagles limiting the Barons to their lowest shooting percentage of the game in a quarter at 29.41%. A jumper from Collins to start the fourth cut the lead to five and a layup from Wilson brought the game to within six, four minutes later. A 9-2 run from the Barons ended at the 3:04 mark to give Brewton-Parker a 62-49 lead with 3:04 on the clock. The Barons finished the remainder of the game ahead by double digits to earn the 67-53 win.

Morgan Collins led the Running Eagles offensively with 17 points and three assists and finished 8-for-17 from the floor. Wilson added four steals to her double-double and was 5-for-8 from the field.

Both teams shot above 40% on the night, Life U tied Brewton-Parker in shots from the floor 24-for-57 (42.1%) compared to Brewton-Parker's 26-for-57 (45.6%). The difference in the game came from behind the arc, the Barons more efficient at 8-for-20 (40%) while the Running Eagles connected on one at 1-for-13 (7.7%). The Barons controlled the glass with a 35-30 advantage in rebounds over the Running Eagles. The Running Eagles led 38-32 in points in the paint, however the Barons earned the nod in points off turnovers 22-16.

The women's basketball team will return to action on Thursday, December 16, when they travel to Henderson, Tenn. to face Freed-Hardeman University at 7 PM in Mid-South Conference action.
