ROME, Ga. ---- The Life University women's volleyball team came from behind Wednesday night to defeat NCAA DII opponent Shorter University on the road in five sets.

Leading the way offensively for the Running Eagles was
Fay Louis, who totaled 17 kills and 20 digs in the double-double performance. Three other players were able to tally double-digit kill performances including
Lena Pucnik (11),
Caitlyn Neal (11) and
Mary Zimmerman (10). Pucnick picked up the double-double as well with 22 digs, two block assists and a service ace. Zimmerman added seven digs and four block assists.
Kennedy Neal also finished with a double-double in the box score with 43 assists and 10 digs as
Marin Black led the team defensively with 24 digs.

Life U battled in the first set but was unable to put together a solid offensive run as Shorter took the first set 25-22. The Running Eagles found fluidity in the second set tying the match with a 25-22 win. Shorter answered in the third set with a 25-21 win, however Life U held off the Hawks in the fourth set with a 25-19 win. Both teams continued matching point for point in the fifth set, but Life U was able to string together a late run to earn the 22-20 set win for the match.

Life U managed a .119 hitting percentage during the match as Shorter finished with a .104 percentage. Life U also led Shorter in digs, 95-89, assists, 57-48, and kills, 60-50. In the fifth and final set, Life U hit .316 to seal the victory.

The women's volleyball team will return to action on Friday, February 12, as they host Talladega College in the Eagles' Nest at 6 PM.
